Productivity Tips For Today’s Busy Professional
Our normal lives have been turned upside down with the news of the Corona Virus hitting us all and hitting us hard.
The ordinary and routine have turned into asking the questions “What If?” and “What’s Next?”
Continuous media reports and updates lead to information overload and overwhelm, so we thought it would be a good idea to share some simple ways to stay focused on your business while at the same time giving you the permission to reimagine and recreate the ideal life you are hoping for.
Below are 10 tips that can improve productivity while giving you the feeling of accomplishment along the way.
- Prioritize Your Day: List out three of the most important tasks you need to complete by the end of the day and focus on getting those done. Working on the hardest or most time-consuming task first while you are still the freshest is a great way to get more done in the time that you do have.
- Stay Organized: Look at your desk or workspace. What is it saying about you? Is it cluttered with a ton of papers or is it neat and tidy? Now before you answer this question it might be helpful to know yourself. Sometimes our workspace can be a little messier than others who are more organized. We suggest that you at least keep frequently used items within reach such as a notepad or planner, a pen and of course, your phone.
- Schedule Your Social Media Posts: This is something so easy yet many business owners don’t take advantage of it. Programs such as Hootsuite, Buffer, and SproutSocial have both free and paid versions for you to schedule posts. This allows you to move onto other aspects of your business. If you need to learn the “How To’s” this might be a great time to learn a new skill that can truly help build your business today.
- Plan Ahead For Your Week: Take at least a Sunday afternoon or evening to plan out your work week Utilizing a business planner of your choice to time block scheduled meetings and follow-up calls along with moving your business forward activities can all help keep you focused on weekly and income-producing goals.
- Delegate Effectively: Time intensive but non-revenue building tasks should be handed over to a team member, assistant or intern. This can include bookkeeping, travel arrangements, running errands and project management.
