VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS HAVE NO LIMITS
My name is Kristi and I am a virtual assistant. I started with AVA almost 10 years ago after reaching out to them via a story in the local paper.
At the time, I was an eager young woman trying to break into the workforce – I possessed a degree and a wealth of knowledge in my field but was dealing with continuous health setbacks that made it difficult to be consistently in an office. So, as it goes for most disabled individuals, It was very challenging to find someone willing to hire me and give me a chance to prove myself.
As soon as I met with Lisa though, I knew AVA was different! I was upfront with her about my obstacles but also confident in what I KNEW I could bring to the table. She never blinked or questioned my abilities; Where other potential prospects saw an unnecessary risk, AVA saw potential and opportunity. I was ecstatic to be working and to do it from HOME was a dream come true – something that never thought REALLY existed in any type of lucrative form.
But it did and through the years, we’ve built an amazing relationship of mutual growth and understanding. I’ve worked on many different projects, learned new skills, found out what I like and excel at (social media) and what I really don’t care for (phone calls!). The greatest aspect of being a VA is that none of my clients have to know I’m disabled (unless I tell them). In the virtual world, my work speaks for itself. I get to feel “normal” and focus on the skills and expertise I have, not hindered by the things I can’t do. This is not something I’ve ever been able to find in a regular face-to-face job.
As our team grew bigger and expanded, we always made sure everyone who joined understood our mission and our goals. We have become a family of sorts – we encourage and support each other not only in our business endeavors but in our personal lives as well.
I still have health setbacks now & then that may temporarily put me out of commission, but I never ever have to worry about losing my job or letting down a client. I know The team we’ve built will have my back and support me in any way they can because we all share the same goals: the success of AVA, the satisfaction of our clients and the prosperity of each other.
